Two Ways to Manage Czech Packaging EPR
Foreign companies placing packaged products on the Czech market may be required to register with EKO-KOM, report packaging quantities and manage ongoing Czech Packaging EPR obligations.
There are two practical ways to manage these requirements. A company may either appoint a formal EPR Authorised Representative in the Czech Republic, or, where such an appointment is not mandatory, remain directly responsible for its EPR obligations and authorise SUSCON to manage the administration under a Power of Attorney.
The appropriate model depends on the company’s legal position, sales model and the type of products and packaging placed on the Czech market. In certain cases, the appointment of an EPR Authorised Representative is mandatory. In other cases, the company may choose whether to appoint a formal representative or remain directly registered and outsource the administrative work.
Where a formal EPR Authorised Representative is not required, the Power of Attorney model offers a simpler and more flexible solution. Your company remains the responsible producer, while SUSCON manages the practical EKO-KOM administration, communication and packaging reporting on your behalf.

EPR Authorised Representative
Appoint SUSCON as your Authorised Representative for Extended Producer Responsibility in the Czech Republic.
Under this model, SUSCON is formally appointed to perform the relevant EPR obligations on behalf of your company in the Czech Republic.
This is the more formal representation model and may be appropriate where the appointment of an EPR Authorised Representative is legally required or where the producer chooses to appoint one voluntarily.
SUSCON can support the producer with the relevant EKO-KOM and EPR administration, including registration, communication and reporting activities falling within the agreed scope of representation.
Best suited for:
Companies that are required to appoint an EPR Authorised Representative in the Czech Republic or specifically wish to use a formal local representative structure.
